WiFi Router in Bedroom is Safe or Dangerous?

Wireless routers give off electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the low-gigahertz frequency. Yes, wifi radiation can make people sick. But Will it always make people sick? No.

Short answer: No, in general, but the WiFI radiation effects are small and not well understood at this moment.

Well, only if the blinking lights on your WiFi modem / router keep you awake, and you might trip on the router cables, and if you cover the router in for example blanket there can be a fire hazard.

It’s not a big deal given that your wifi router will blast approx. 400mW of RF power out. If you are away by 1m, it will drop by 10dB of power very easily. So at a 1-meter distance, it will be just 40mW which is pretty low power. So the RF signal will heat your body with 40mW of power whenever you are in the bedroom.

Assuming you spend 10 hours a day in the bedroom. 40 *10 = 400 milli Joules or 0.4J. For comparison, 4.184 J of heat is required to raise the temperature of 1 g of water by 1 ℃. Since the human body is mostly water and assuming you are 50kg, your body will get heated up by 0.1/(50000) = 0.000002 degrees Celcius. It is almost insignificant to your body.
