Returns and refunds
How returns, change-of-mind requests and remedies work for services, parts and refurbished laptops.
Australian Consumer Law rights
Our goods and services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the circumstances, a failure may give you rights to a repair, replacement, refund, re-supply, cancellation or compensation.
Refurbished laptops
Refurbished laptops are sold as refurbished goods, not as new goods. Consumer guarantees can still apply to second-hand and refurbished goods bought from an Australian business. The example model and “Starts From” price shown online are subject to stock availability. Before purchase we confirm the actual unit, condition, specification, final price and warranty information.
If a refurbished laptop has a problem, contact us through My Tech Help. Depending on the problem and the Australian Consumer Law, the remedy may include repair, replacement, refund or compensation. Our additional 12-month warranty does not replace or limit those rights.
Our voluntary 12-month refurbished-laptop warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid or moisture damage, misuse, unauthorised modification or repair, customer-caused damage, normal cosmetic wear, batteries or normal battery-capacity wear, chargers, power adapters, cables or other accessories unless we expressly state otherwise for the specific item. These voluntary-warranty exclusions do not remove any consumer-guarantee rights that cannot legally be excluded.
You do not need the original packaging to exercise consumer-guarantee rights. We may ask for proof of purchase or information that allows us to verify the transaction.
Change of mind
We do not promise a change-of-mind refund unless that option was offered for the particular product or transaction. A change-of-mind policy is separate from your rights when goods or services fail to meet a consumer guarantee. Where we agree to a change-of-mind return, any conditions will be explained before the return is accepted.
Deposits and reservations
A request to reserve a laptop is subject to stock availability and is not a completed sale. If we ask for a deposit after confirming a specific unit, we will tell you the amount, what it secures and any applicable cancellation terms before payment.
Returning faulty goods
If a product is reasonably able to be returned, contact us first so we can explain the return or inspection process. If the product is confirmed to have a fault covered by the Australian Consumer Law, rights to reasonable return or transport costs may apply. If a product cannot reasonably be returned without significant cost because of the nature of the product or fault, different collection obligations may apply under the law.
